Australian beauty Isabel Lucas has been a soap opera star for quite some time but Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen promises to be her true breakout role!
Born January 29, 1985 in Melbourne, and grew up moving around Australia and Europe growing up. She lived in her mother's homeland Switzerland for a year when she was six, and back in Australia she moved to the small town North Queensland - where she became a "wild bush child" going to school with aboriginal children -, and then moved to Carins and again to Sydney when she started filming "Home and Away".
Mega popular aussie soap opera "Home and Away" was Isabel's first break in the industry. Isa had taken drama thoughout school but never auditioned until after she was discovered by agen Sharron Meissner on Christmas 2002. She originally auditioned for the role of Kit Hunter and producers were impressed but didn't quite see her in for that role. Instead, they created a role specially for her: Jane Doe/Tasha Andrews. "We found out when Home and Away rang mum on her mobile when she was driving. Mum pulled over and I then got on the phone. I was so excited and we had a big family dinner that night to celebrate," she says."I had been to a couple of auditions and never got through so I thought I will give it a go and my best shot not ever thinking I would get it. It is such a great challenge for me, so I just want to stay open minded and learn as much as I can. I think I am very lucky."
Now Isabel is ready for Hollywood and has started out big - huge! She landed the role of Alice in Michael Bay's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", the sequel for the 2007 hit "Transformers", starring alongside Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Shia LaBeouf. At the time of the filming Isabel was dating "Entourage" star Adrian Grenier, but she made the news for being in a car accident with co-star Shia, on July 2008.
After "Transformers" Isabel has definitely diversified and has other four projects coming out over the next year, so look forward: "A Girl and a Gun", "The Waiting City", "Daybreakers" and Steven Spielberg's "The Pacific".
Back at home, Isabel rides horses, she's been doing it for 10 years and even competed in dressage and show jumping, and loves her house full of animals - birds, guinea pigs, horses, a dog and a cat. Isabel is very passionated about animals, she's an ambassador for WWF and has joined The Whaleman Foundation aswell. On November 2007 she paddled out on surfboards to a pod of dolphins off the coast of Japan to protest the killing of dolphins, and has since seeing the slauthering in front of her own eyes and being atacked by the fishermen with metal poles, she has been even more involved with the cause. Other celebrities involved and with her on that trip are Hannah Fraser and Hayden Panettiere. Currently they're promoting an official petition against commercial whaling, so be sure to check it out here and see how you can help too. She shared with The Age Melbourne, "The way these beautiful creatures are slaughtered is gut-wrenching. They're left to bleed to death as they're flipping around in the water. It's unspeakably cruel".
Saving the whales is something Isa definitely takes seriously, and definitely one more of the reason to love her, but seeing her on screen is you need to become a fan so be sure to catch her on the big one with "Transformers" this summer.
